2023 John H. Mahoney Memorial Scholarship Application
GUIDELINES - PLEASE REVIEW CAREFULLY:
A) Applicant must be enrolled in or accepted for enrollment at a Post Secondary school that is an eligible institution approved by the department of Health, Education and Welfare (Universities, Colleges, Technical/Vocational Colleges, Community College and Online College Programs) located in New Mexico (except for those attending a Well Drilling School).
Award recipients will be required to send proof of enrollment with a minimum of 12 Credit Hours by October 1, 2023.
B) Applicants must have had a Grade Point Average of 3.5 or higher in the most recent semester completed and provide an unofficial transcript thru the most recent
semester completed.
C) Up to two, $1,000 scholarships will be awarded each year. $500.00 will be given per semester. Applicants are eligible to receive a total of 2 Annual Scholarship Awards.
D) Special consideration of the award guidelines will be given to students and graduate students pursuing a career in a water related field or those planning to attend a Well Drilling Training School.
E) A 300 DPI full color photo must be uploaded with the application.
F) Applications will be rated based on academic record, school and community involvement, written references, thoughtfulness & effort exerted in completing the application, supporting documentation and number of previous awards received.
G) Applications will be reviewed the by the Mahoney family and the Scholarship Committee. Award recipients will be approved at the Summer Meeting of the Board of Directors. Notifications will be sent within 30 days of the meeting.
H) Award checks will be sent upon receipt of the student’s proof of enrollment showing a minimum of 12 Credit Hours at an approved institution. Proof of enrollment must be sent by October 1, 2023.
